To summarise RIZE, it is best explained as "Overwatch" team-based fighting within a "Snakes and Ladders" inspired vertical map.

Playing as your selected Ascendant (one of many unique characters with special abilities) - the ultimate goal is to successfully extract at the top floor with your team.

So you are essentially farming creatures and engaging in PvP skirmishes to evolve your Ascendant for the final epic showdown, in a last desperate attempt at extraction.
